The present Abbey of Corbigny dates from 1754. A foundation stone, visible at the foot of the southern façade of the monument, attests to this construction. From 1789 onwards, the Abbey was used for various purposes: State stud farm, primary schools, agricultural school, military hospital during the First World War, general education college, etc. Classified as a Historic Monument in 2001, the Abbey has since become a place for artistic creation and dissemination, where exhibitions and shows are held...
If you find the door of the gate open, dare to enter, you can freely visit the garden in front of the abbey. The interior can be discovered for a fee of €3 per person.
In addition to the work of the master masons, carpenters and stucco workers who have left their mark on the building, you can admire three contemporary works of art, created specifically for the Abbey.
