The Usinerie is housed in the oldest industrial building in Chalon-sur-Saône, a steam mill that crushed grain for the entire region before becoming an oil mill and then a sugar mill. Now a historical monument, this building has been magnificently restored and has been the subject of a contemporary extension by the Vurpas Architects agency. It now houses the Usinerie, a centre for innovation and digitalisation through industry, bringing together the Arts et Métiers, the Cnam Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the Union des Industries et Métiers de la Métallurgie de Saône-et- Loire and the Usinerie Partners.
